Blueway public meetings scheduled

Bedford County government is applying for a Local Parks and Recreation Fund grant from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.

The grant if funded, will provide signage, river stage markers and other safety improvements on the Duck River in Bedford County.

There will be two public meetings to discuss this proposal. The dates are:

Monday, March 17, 4 p.m., Normandy City Hall, Normandy

Thursday, March 27, 10 a.m., Historic Courthouse, Duck River Room, Shelbyville

Duck River, throughout the state of Tennessee is a Blueway, or a designated recreational stream for paddling and recreation.

Bedford County government efforts for this project, are focused on improving the safety and access for all those who utilize Duck River in Bedford County.
