SHELBYVILLE — William Bobo got it done with his arm and Stephen Bobo made his mark with his bat on Tuesday night against visiting Columbia.
William Bobo went 6 2/3 innings to claim the win and Stephen Bobo crushed a three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning as Shelbyville finished off the two-game district sweep against Columbia Central with the 7-2 win in Game 2.

enth inning and gave up just two hits, only one of which was earned.
The Eagles’ backed Bobo’s strong start on the mound with timely hitting.
William Bobo helped his own cause and led off the bottom of the first with a ground ball single and Caden Duggin followed with a bunt single to put two on with nobody out.
That brought three-hole hitter Stephen Bobo to the plate and after settling in, he mashed a no-doubt, three-run shot over the center-right field fence.
Columbia snatched a run back in the top of the second thanks to a two-out RBI triple.
But even after the Lions put a second run just 90 feet away from scoring, Bobo forced a pop fly to record the third out.
From there, Shelbyville went on to plate a single run in each of the following four innings.

In the third, Caden Peacock crushed a solo shot to left, and in the fourth, Duggin ground into a fielder’s choice to bring home a sixth Golden Eagle run.
The final run for the home team crossed the plate in the fifth inning when Palmer Edwards scampered home on a Lion error.
Columbia Central scored its second run of the game in the top of the seventh with two outs on a passed ball, but relief pitcher Micheal Estrada was able to force a ground out for the final out of the night.
Stephen Bobo drove home three runs and finished the night going 1-for-2 with his three-run blast in the first being the biggest hit of the night.
William Bobo went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In a stark contrast from Game 2, Game 1 was a quality pitcher’s duel between Eagle starter Stephen Bobo and Lion starter Lane Sharp.
The pair combined for 21 strikeouts and the game saw all the scoring come in the first inning, with Shelbyville driving home two runs that ultimately led to the 2-1 Golden Eagle win.
Bobo was dominant, going six innings and allowing one unearned run on five hits while striking out 11, while Sharp finished with 10 strikeouts and surrendering one two runs.
In the first at-bat of the game, William Bobo mashed a solo homer over the left-field fence, giving the Eagles the early lead.
Three batters later, Brody Lovvorn connected on a ground ball single, bringing home Braxton Vari for what proved to be the game-winner.
In total, Shelbyville connected on six hits, with Stpehen Bobo going 2-for-3, while catcher Caden Peacock went 1-for-3 with a double.
