BELL BUCKLE — It was total domination for the Cascade Lady Champions in the District 9-A opener on Tuesday night.
After being held scoreless in the first half, a second-half barrage of goals against visiting Forrest landed the Lady Champs a 4-0 home victory.
Forrest pressed an early attack and found a run against the Cascade midfield that held its ground through most of the first half and got a shot on goal in the eighth minute.
But not much else went the Lady Rockets’ way.
Cascade peppered the Lady Rocket goal with 33 shots on the night, but it was a second-half goal by Sophie Ray that put Cascade up 1-0.
Olivia Winnett, who fired a staggering 11 shots at the Forrest goal, netted the second Cascade score of the night.
Ella McGeary and Ellie Chappa each added a goal to bump the advantage to 4-0.
Irais Rojas recorded for saves and preserved the shutout in goal.
Cascade hits the road on Thursday and will travel to Huntland before taking a break until September 3, due to the Walking Horse Celebration.
