BELL BUCKLE — Fayetteville City just had too much speed for the Cascade Champions (1-8, 0-3) to corral during Friday night’s Region 4-2A matchup.
The Tigers (5-4, 2-1) leaned on the efforts of Kveon Henderson who found the end zone three times in the Tigers’ 60-11 win over Cascade at the Stable.
The game’s opening drive looked promising enough for the Champions who pressed well into Fayetteville territory with a steady mix of runs and a couple of passes by quarterback Braxtyn Burris.
Max Smith went for 10 yards on the first play from scrimmage and later in the drive, Burris came up with a key conversion on fourth down.
After looking the defense off to the left, Burris found an opening and scampered forward for a 12-yard pick up to keep the chains moving.
Having pushed down to the 27-yard line, Cascade again tried for a fourth-down conversion attempt, but this time Casey was held to just one yard and the Tigers came up with a turnover on downs.

veon Henderson capped the drive with his first of three rushing touchdowns coming on a 4-yard burst into the end zone with 4:55 left in the first.
Fayetteville went to the air for its second score in the opening frame when Tiger quarterback Samuel Willoughby hit Quasean Black in the end zone on a 14-yard strike.
Fayetteville added two more rushing touchdowns in the first half and Willoughby and Black hooked up again on a 19-yard strike with 1:17 left in the half to take a 34-0 lead.
Following Willoughby’s second passing touchdown, Cascade took possession and utilized an up-tempo pace, which paid dividends.
Burris went 4-for-6 on the drive and led the Champions to the Tiger 16-yard line to set up a Gabe Perez 33-yard field goal as time expired to put Cascade on the board.
Following halftime, there was no let down for the Tigers, who saw Henderson break loose for runs of 46 and 59 yards to bump the advantage to 47-3.
Following the second score of the night, Burris again sparked the Champs in the pass game, connecting with Casey and Landon Kling on passes to set up the Champions just outside the red zone.
On third down from the Tiger 22, Burris hit Kling in stride for the touchdown.
Burris then kept the ball and plowed his way into the end zone for the successful conversion attempt, making the score 47-11 with 11:09 to go.
But Fayetteville stole the thunder right back from the Champs on the first play from scrimmage following Kling’s touchdown reception when Jayden Owen broke loose for a 65-yard touchdown run.
Later in the quarter, Black added to his night with his third score coming on another shock play by the Tigers.
After hauling in a pair of touchdown passes from Willoughby, Black broke loose for 43 yards with 2:26 for the final touchdown of the night.
Cascade returns home to the Stable on Thursday night to host region-leading Marion County at 7 p.m. for Senior Night.
