On Saturday, April 5th, the Bedford County community gathered for The Benefit for Hope, an open house event hosted by the Youth Leadership Bedford class. The event highlighted the incredible work of the Leadership Bedford Adult class, who completed a full renovation and expansion of the LifeSource Family Solutions facility as part of their community project.

This transformed space will now allow LifeSource to offer group therapy and classroom-style sessions, expanding their capacity to provide comprehensive mental health services to local families. The goal: to address root causes of mental health challenges and help individuals achieve lasting healing and transformation.

Laura Huggins, Director of the LifeSource Center, was honored with a presentation of $40,000 raised through the event and other efforts to support both the renovation and future counseling service grants. John Sweeney, LifeSource Center Board Member, shared about the life-changing programming already underway at the center and the added services that the expansion now makes possible.

Meanwhile, the Youth Leadership class brought the fun—organizing a family-friendly afternoon filled with games, food trucks, live music, and a silent auction.

Proceeds from the event benefit The Benefit for Hope fund, which will provide counseling service grants for Bedford County residents 21 years old and under. Grants will be awarded based on need, as determined by approved mental health service providers.

It was a day of hope, healing, and community spirit—proof that when Bedford County comes together, great things happen.
