Community dominates Cornersville, Moore Co. to open season

UNIONVILLE — Community’s school colors are the Purple and Gold. During Wednesday night’s season-opener against Cornersville, you can toss in another color—red. As in red-hot.
The Viqueens were as dominant as could be in the frigid temps, getting a mercy-rule win over visiting Cornersville, 13-0, in four innings.
Community hammered Cornersville to the tune of 10 hits, with McKenzie Tucker going yard and driving in a pair of runs to lead the way.
McKenzie Tucker, Taylar Wessner, Gracie Daniel, Annie Prince and Maxey all also connected for doubles as well.
Maxey and Wessner went 2-for-3, while Prince had a 2-for-2 night.
Prince also got the win in the pitcher’s circle.
She toed the rubber and struck out 12 batters while giving up just one walk.

For the second-straight game to open the 2025 season, Community had everything working and claimed a dominant win via run-rule limit.
Gracie Daniel was the big run producer on the night, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs to her credit, while Kamryn Farrell, Alana Tate, Mattie Maxie and Carlie Blanton all knocked in a pair of runs.
Blanton also smashed a home run as well.
In the pitcher’s circle, Taylar Wessner toed the rubber and gave up just two hits, while striking out four.
