McMINNVILLE — Shelbyville Central delivered a huge, 11-1 win at Warren County on Tuesday evening, but while the win Eagles’ second District 9-4A win of the season, Thursday night’s victory marked Eagle head coach Chase Jones’ 60th overall at the helm of the program and 400th career win in his 20-plus year coaching career.
After Stephen Bobo drove in the first run of the game in the top of the first, there was no doubting the Eagles’ grasp on the lead.
Starting pitcher William Bobo tossed a one-hit get, surrendering one unearned run on one hit, while striking out seven over six innings.
The Eagles’ bats came alive in the third with three-straight hits from William Bobo, Caden Duggin and Stephen Bobo.
Despite grounding into a double play, Shelbyville’s Caden Peacock stepped to the plate and with two outs, crushed a two-run homer to left, bumping the Shelbyville lead to 4-0.
Shelbyville went on to score in each of the final three innings, highlighted by a four-run fifth inning.
In total, the Eagles hammered out 14 total hits.
Peacock led Shelbyville at the plate, going 2-for-3 with his two-run homer and a double, while driving in three runs.
William Bobo, Stephen Bobo and Brody Lovvorn also had stellar nights at the plate and each plated a pair of runs in the win.
