Lady Champs take team win, Collard earns medalist honors

CHAPEL HILL — Last week, the Cascade Lady Champions kept it rolling in a tri-match against Community and Forrest, posting a 93 to take the team win behind Sarah Kate Hall’s top mark of 45.
Kaegan Young added a 48 as Cascade combined for a 93 total score.
Community posted a total 136 team score, with Anna Haskins shooting a 67 and Taylar Wessner turning in a 69.
As a team, Forrest shot a 120 to take second.
On the boys’ side of the tri-match at Henry Horton, it was Forrest who combined for a 194 to take the team win, but it was Cascade’s Eli Collard’s 43 that was the top mark of the afternoon of all individual scores.
Cascade went on to finish with a 209, edging Community’s 212 in the team score.
Thomas Demartelaere finished his round with a 51, while Caz Bobo and Brody Wiser shot a 57 and 58, respectively, to round out Cascade’s scoring.
Brody Armstrong was the low-scorer for the Vikings, shooting a 46, while Bryce Mullins finished three strokes back at 49.
Dylan Markum and Zach Leathers shot a 53 and 64 to finish out scoring for the Purple and Gold.
Both Cascade and Community were back in action during early-week matches, however results were unavailable by press time.
