Middle quarters doom Eaglettes vs. Lincoln Co.

FAYETTEVILLE — Simply put, the middle quarters weren’t kind to Shelbyville Central on Friday night at Lincoln County.
During the second and third frames, the Lady Falcons outscored the Eaglettes 42-23.
Fouls quickly became an issue for the Eaglettes and the Lady Falcons got their share of time at the free throw line.
As a team, Lincoln County shot 20-of-29 attempts on the night.
After the hosts built a 14-7 lead, things quickly spiraled.
Lincoln County’s Abby Bryan scored 13 points in the second period to help the Lady Falcons outscore Shelbyville 21-10 in the quarter.
Lincoln County served up another 21-point quarter in the third, but after being held to just four points in the first half, Lanaya Young went off in the second half.
Young scored all 13 points for the Eaglettes in the third.
Despite getting in an offensive rhythm in the third, Shelbyville finished with just 10 points in the fourth, allowing Lincoln County to close out the game with the 24-point win.
Young led the Eaglettes with 23 points, while Bryan finished with 25.
