Raise Funds to Address Hunger

Farm Credit Mid-America, Tennessee Farm Bureau and Tennessee Farmers Cooperative Combine to Raise Funds to Address Hunger

The annual Shooting Hunger event takes place in Middle Tennessee.

Nashville, Tenn. (September 20, 2024) – Farm Credit Mid-America, Rural 1st, Tennessee Farm Bureau and Tennessee Farmers Cooperative hosted the annual Shooting Hunger event in Nashville, Tenn. on Thursday, September 19. Shooting Hunger is a sporting clays event that raises money to fight food insecurity in Tennessee. This is the tenth year of the event in Middle Tennessee.

 

“Food insecurity has long been a significant challenge for many Tennesseans. Each year, Shooting Hunger plays a crucial role in raising funds to combat this issue, directly supporting those in need,” said Scott Holmes, Farm Credit Mid-America regional vice president. “By addressing food insecurity, we are providing immediate relief and fulfilling our broader mission of securing the future of rural communities and agriculture. This event embodies our commitment to making a lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals and families across Tennessee.”

 

Monetary donations will be distributed to all 95 counties in Tennessee. In the last two years, community organizations received more than $500,000. Checks are given to schools, churches, food banks and other community organizations that have backpack programs providing meals to children across Tennessee. Since 2015, funds raised have provided more than two million meals to hungry Tennesseans.
