SHELBYVILLE — William Bobo and Brody Lovvorn each knocked in three runs and the Golden Eagle pitching arsenal mostly kept the basepaths clear on Monday night against rival Tullahoma as Shelbyville crushed the Wildcats 14-3.
Four Golden Eagles got work on the bump on Monday, with starter Stephen Bobo pitching a scoreless inning and getting the win.
Tullahoma threatened in the top of the first inning with a two-out double and a walk, but Bobo settled in and recorded a strikeout to strand runners on second and third.
William Bobo then led off the bottom of the inning with a walk and was bunted to second base by Caden Duggin before Stephen Bobo drew a walk to put two on with one out.
Lovvorn then stepped to the plate and smoked a laser of a shot to the center field fence, scoring two.
The Eagles played add on in the second with a RBI single off the bat of Brody Thomas to bump the lead to 3-0.
Stephen Bobo and Duggin both added singles in the inning before Lovvorn was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to scoot a fourth run across the plate.
Tullahoma got two back in the top of the third, but the Golden Eagles went onto outscore the Wildcats 10-1 over the final two innings played, highlighted by a seven-run sixth inning to reach the 10-run rule limit.
Shelbyville hammered the Wildcat pitching for eight hits, half of which went for extra bases.
Duggin was the only Golden Eagle to connect for multiple hits, going 2-for-2 with a walk and a double.
Caden Peacock also doubled in addition to Lovvorn and William Bobo’s doubles.
William Bobo pitched two innings in relief, allowing two runs on two hits to go with a strikeout.
Duggin turned in a scoreless inning, allowing one hit, while Michael Estrada gave up one run on three hits in two innings worth of work.
