BELL BUCKLE — A promising start by Cascade ultimately spiraled out of control late as Forrest scored runs in each of the final three innings to pull away for the 8-0 win on Tuesday night.
After Cascade posted two scoreless frames to open the game, the Lady Rockets pushed two runs across the plate in the third inning and played add on with runs scored in each of the final three innings played.
With a 2-0 lead, Forrest got one in the fifth, two in the sixth and put a cap on the night with a three-spot in the third.
Shalan Burt worked around trouble in the first two innings, but gave up eight runs on 10 hits and struck out one.
Cascade was held in check at the plate to just two hits, coming from Burt and Alayna Cruse.
Forrest starting pitcher Taylor Moreland got the win in the circle and struck out 11 batters to claim the win.
