COMMUNITY 11, CANNON CO. 0
The Viqueens sent their two seniors out on a high note during Senior Night, crushing Cannon County to wrap up the regular season 11-0.
Taylar Wessner made quite the romp during her senior night, along with fellow senior Carlie Blanton.
Wessner tossed a near-perfect game in the pitcher’s circle, allowing a single hit, but no walks or runs, and also blasted a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth.
She also struck out four batters.
In total, the Viqueens hammered the Lionettes for 12 hits.
Mattie Maxey also sent a fly ball over the fence for a two-run homer in the bottom of the first.
Of the 12 total hits, Community had six go for extra bases, with Alana Tate mashing a pair of doubles.
The Viqueens grabbed a 4-0 lead in the first, played add on with two in the second and closed the game with a five-spot in the bottom of the fourth.
Maxey went 2-for-3 with three RBIs to lead the Purple and Gold at the plate.

In Game 1 of a district doubleheader earlier this week, Community absolutely dominated Grundy County with a massive day at the plate, as well as a perfect game-effort from starting pitcher Annie Prince.
Community hammered Grundy County 23-0 in Game 1.
Prince was masterful in the circle and struck out all nine batters faced through three innings and was backed by a 15-hit effort.
Haylee Webb, Alana Tate, Annie Prince and Carlie Blanton each doubled in the blowout, with Tate also mashing a triple.
Taylar Wessner went 2-for-3 with a huge first-inning grand slam.
