STAFF REPORT
At its July 10 meeting, the Shelbyville City Council approved participation in a series of matching grant programs aimed at bolstering city safety, cybersecurity, and infrastructure. The city will apply for four grants through PE Partners—the Judy Housley Safety Partners Grant, the Property Conservation Grant, the James L. Richardson Driver Grant, and a Cybersecurity Grant. Each program offers 50/50 matching funds, with the city’s contribution capped at $5,000 per grant depending on coverage levels.
The grants are designed to support preventative measures such as facility upgrades, employee training, and system protections. City officials say the programs are part of a broader effort to improve internal safeguards and reduce liability risks in the new fiscal year.
