Six farmers from Bedford County submitted a total of seventeen entries in the TN State Fair’s Hay & Field Crop Contest this year and half of them (pictured) had entries that placed in the top ten of their respective classes. Johnny Reed placed 5th in Lot 6 – Warm Season Annual Grass with his crabgrass entry. Stephen King placed 7th and 8th in a very competitive Lot 2 – Legumes Other Than Clover (alfalfa) and Lot 8 – Mixed Grass Without Legume respectively. Tracy Vannatta placed 2nd in Lot 2 – Group 4 Soybeans and was the State Winner in Lot 1 – Group 3 Soybeans.
