A Bedford County Christmas Returns to Light Up the Historic Shelbyville Square

The most magical night of the year returns as A Bedford County Christmas brings holiday cheer to the Historic Shelbyville Square on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Hosted by the Shelbyville-Bedford Chamber of Commerce, this beloved annual event unites families, neighbors, and visitors for an evening filled with lights, laughter, and the true spirit of the season.

This year’s celebration promises to be bigger and brighter than last, featuring:

Live performances by Hannah Nicolaisen, American Idol Season 21

Photos with Santa

Live reindeer

Princess and Superhero characters

Dancers from Inspire Dance Academy

Mid-State Cloggers performance

Live Nativity presented by Shelbyville United Methodist Church

Fireworks

Courthouse and Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Blood Assurance on site for blood donations

Lowe’s of Shelbyville Build-A-Toy Workshop

Decorate-A-Cookie Station

Bedford County Fair and Farm Bureau’s Bringing the Farm to Christmas

Local businesses, non-profits, and vendors around the Square sharing their stories and hosting interactive activities for families

When the event concludes at 7:00 p.m., Uptown merchants will keep the celebration going, inviting attendees to visit their stores for special evening activities and extended shopping hours.

Following the event, families are invited to enjoy a FREE Movie Night for kids at the Shelbyville Capri Theatre, featuring Zootopia 2 or Wicked: For Good. (Made possible by the sponsors of A Bedford County Christmas!)

“Our goal is to create a night that captures the magic of Christmas,” said Dana Rodriguez, Director of the Shelbyville-Bedford Chamber of Commerce. “This event is truly about community — bringing everyone together to celebrate the joy, hope, and love that make Bedford County such a special place.”
