CASCADE 45, EAGLEVILLE 25
After blowing out Collinwood to open the Cornersville Thanksgiving Tournament on Monday, the Cascade Lady Champions punched their ticket to the tournament championship round with a dominant second half against Eagleville in the 45-25 semifinal round.
Through much of the first half, Eagleville hung tough with Cascade, although the Lady Champs were able to cling to a 12-10 lead after the first quarter.
A stellar quarter shooting the 3-ball in the second helped carry the Lady Champs to a 26-21 halftime lead.
But after the half, Cascade surrendered just four points to Eagleville, including a single field goal, which came in the third period.
As a team, Eagleville was just 4-of-10 attempts from the charity stripe for the game.
For Cascade, no player reached double figures, but plenty contributed meaningful minutes that led to points on the board.
Lizzie Keele led Cascade with nine points, while Caroline Parker added eight.
Kaegan Young chipped in seven, while Jocelyn Laughlin and Jade Tolar each scored six.

The Community Viqueens flexed their offensive might and overpowered Battle Creek in the Cornersville Thanksgiving Tournament.
Nine different Viqueens penciled their name in the scoring column in the blowout victory.
The Viqueens relied on a massive first half and outscored Battle Creek 19-8 in the first period.
Community piled on 22 more points in the second period to lead 41-15 at the half.
The final two quarters were more of the same, with Community going on a 13-3 run in the third quarter, despite Battle Creek outscoring Community 8-4 in the fourth.
Sara Flannagan led all scorers with 14 points while Morgan Pridmore chipped in 10.
As a team, the Viqueens hit five treys in the win.
The win over Battle Creek advanced Community to the tournament consolation game against Collinwood.

GREEN HILL 53, SCHS 32
Diving into a busy Thanksgiving hoops slate, Shelbyville Central came up short against Green Hill in the first game of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, hosted by Ravenwood.
On Tuesday, the Eaglettes fell behind Green Hill early and ultimately dropped the Thanksgiving week opener, 53-32.
Green Hill went on a 15-5 run through the first quarter before the Eaglettes rallied for double digits in the second peripd.
Yasmine McFarland and Janiya Leslie combined for 10 points to lead the Eaglettes, but Shelbyville still trailed 31-15 at the break.
The Eaglettes added 12 more in the third period, but Green Hill continued to pad its lead and went on to outscore Shelbyville 22-17 throughout the second half for the 19-point margin of victory.
Green Hill’s KT Tolbert led all scorers with 21 points, while Shelbyville’s Dara Frazier led the Eaglettes with eight.
