The Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles swept the opening district series of the season from Warren County with the help of a no-hit performance by Brody Thomas.

Shelbyville Central’s offense erupted early and never let up Monday night, powering the Golden Eagles to a dominant 19–2 victory over Warren County.
Shelbyville Central set the tone immediately, plating five runs in the first inning before breaking the game wide open with a 13-run explosion in the second.
By the time the dust settled, the Golden Eagles had piled up 19 runs on 13 hits in just four innings of work.
A balanced offensive attack fueled the surge. Case Davis led the charge, going 4-for-4 with four RBIs, while Caden Peacock delivered a big performance with a three run homer and four RBIs of his own. Blake Bone added two hits including a double and drove in two runs, Miles McCullough went 2-3 with a double, a RBI and two runs scored. Brody Thomas had a double and a RBI with three runs scored and Ashton Whorley contributed with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Chase Billig had a hit with a RBI and run scored as part of the onslaught.
On the mound, Kaleb Maillet delivered a strong outing to earn the win. The right-hander allowed just five hits and two runs over five innings while striking out seven.

The Eagles broke open a scoreless game with a five-run seventh inning and rode a dominant pitching performance from Brody Thomas to a 5-0 shutout win over Warren County on Tuesday.
Thomas was in complete control from the start, tossing a a no-hitter. The right-hander struck out seven and worked around four walks, keeping Warren County off balance all night.
For six innings, both teams were locked in a tight pitchers’ duel, with the game scoreless heading to the 7th inning.
That’s when the Eagles broke through. Shelbyville capitalized on timely at-bats and pressure at the plate in the seventh, plating all five of its runs in the inning. The rally included productive outs and key situational hitting, with RBIs coming from multiple spots in the lineup.
Caden Peacock led the way offensively, finishing with a pair of hits, including a double and driving in a run. Brody Thomas helped his own cause with two hits, while Eli Westbrooks added a double. Braxton Vari and Miles McCullough also contributed RBIs in the decisive inning.
Despite being held without a hit, Warren County stayed within striking distance thanks to Walker’s effort on the mound, but couldn’t overcome Shelbyville’s late surge.
Shelbyville Central- 7 Smyrna- 2
Shelbyville used a decisive fourth-inning surge to turn the game around and pull away for a 7-2 win over Smyrna on Thursday.
After falling behind 2-0 through three innings, the Eagles flipped the momentum in the bottom of the fourth.
Miles McCullough delivered the biggest swing of the game with a two-run double down the left field line, tying things up. Blake Bone followed with a two-run single to center, giving the Eagles a lead it wouldn’t give back.
>From there, the Eagles continued to apply pressure, adding insurance runs late while controlling the game on both sides.
McCullough and Bone led the offense with two RBIs apiece, while Shelbyville finished with eight hits and drew five walks to keep innings alive. Contributions came throughout the lineup, including RBIs from Case Davis and Brody Thomas.
On the mound, Ashton Whorley delivered a complete-game performance, going all seven innings while allowing six hits and two runs. He struck out four and walked two, consistently working out of trouble and limiting Smyrna’s chances after the early innings.
Smyrna- 4 Shelbyville Central- 2
Shelbyville couldn’t find enough offense Saturday, falling 4-2 to Smyrna on the road.
The Eagles were limited to just two hits on the afternoon and struck out nine times, making it difficult to sustain any momentum at the plate.
Shelbyville broke through in the third inning to tie the game at 1-1, then briefly pulled even again in the fourth after pushing across another run.
Smyrna answered each time and slowly pulled away, scoring in the fifth and sixth innings to secure the win.
Case Davis and Eli Westbrooks accounted for Shelbyville’s only hits, with Davis delivering the team’s lone extra-base hit — a double. Blake Bone drove in a run on a sacrifice fly, while the Eagles also showed patience at times with four walks, but left nine runners on base.
On the mound, Braxton Vari got the start and worked into the fourth inning, allowing two runs (one earned) while battling through traffic.
Westbrooks and Bone each provided relief, but Smyrna’s steady offensive pressure — eight hits total — proved to be the difference.
Shelbyville (10-2, 2-0), will travel to Lincoln County on Monday to open the second district series of the year. Game time is set for 6:30. The Eagles host Lincoln County on Tuesday with first pitch scheduled for 6:00.
