UNIONVILLE — What started as a promising effort against visiting Eagleville on Tuesday did a 180-degree turnaround, following a slew of turnovers.
From those turnovers, Eagleville thrived in a transition game and built a massive lead that held for the 77-46 win over Community.
The Vikings got a quick look off the opening tip with Landon Lovvorn drilling a 3-pointer barely five seconds into the game.
From there, Communtiy built a 7-2 lead, following a 3-pointer by Landon Berman.
Eagleville eventually closed the gap and after Lovvorn hit his second trey of the quarter to put the Vikes up 10-6, the Eagles went on an 8-0 run to capture the lead.
The Vikings managed just a single field goal in the final 4:18 of the opening frame—a basket by Zack Berman with 1:31 left in the period.
Eagleville extended its lead to 19 points by halftime, posting a 19-7 run through the second quarter.
The Eagles continued to disperse their offense among several playmakers and even into the second half, the visitors continued a torrid run, outscoring Community 39-27.
In total, the Eagles put four players in double figures, with Camden Cole leading all scorers with 20 points.
Lovvorn, despite shooting well early, scored just six points in the second half.
He paced the Vikings with 14 points.
Community has one final game before the holiday break on Thursday night at Huntland.
