The Shelbyville Police Benevolent Association will present its second annual car show May 18 at Shelbyville Central High School from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. All vehicles are welcome. Pre-registration is $30. Registration the day of the event is $40. Food trucks will also be on site. Judges will be local county and city officials.

VFW Post 5019, 1320 Wartrace Pike (Depot Street), will hold its monthly third-Saturday music night on Saturday, May 18. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, with the event from 6-9:30 p.m. James Smotherman & Friends will be featured but other acoustic musicians and singers are welcome. A Decoration Day for the Rosebank Cemetery in Flat Creek, Tenn., will be May 19 at 2 p.m. at the Flat Creek Community Center, 115 New Herman Rd.

The Bedford County Democratic Party will meet at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 20, at their headquarters in the Executive Building (yellow brick building next to the Fly) at 210 South Main in Shelbyville with Van Ayers presiding.
