Alma Jean Parker Deason, 93, of Shelbyville, died February 5, 2024. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 10, at Hillcrest Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Kemp and Rev. Andrew F. Deason officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Mount Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m.
She was born January 14, 1931, in Lincoln County, Tenn.; a retired cafeteria worker for Bedford County School System and a member of Faith Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Herman and Velma Key Parker; her husband of 57 years, Donald Franklin Deason; daughter, Angela Reed; son, Anthony “Tony” Deason; granddaughter, Anna Deason; great-grandchildren, Andrew F. Deason and Gloria Bane; brothers, Charles Parker, James Herman “J.H.” Parker Jr., William Parker and Ellis Parker.
Alma is survived by her children, Cathy (Thomas) Leverette, Patricia “Pat” (Ricky) Donovan, David (Pat) Deason; sister, Geraldine Mason; daughter-in-law and caregiver, Nell Deason; 19 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
