BELL BUCKLE — Cascade got just the start it needed to the 2025 season on Friday afternoon.
With Jayden Hathcock dealing on the mound, the Cascade batting order backed up him to the tune of nine hits as Cascade took down the defending Class 1A state champion Eagleville, 12-2.
Hathcock went the distance on the bump and pitched a complete game, giving up just two runs on six hits while striking out nine.
The entire batting order delivered to back Hathcock’s strong outing, but it was Wickey Parker and Xykaiah Dixon who made their mark on the game.
Parker mashed a pair of homers drove in five RBIs, while Dixon went 2-for-3 with two doubles.
Cascade plated three runs in the first inning, but it was an eight-run third frame that helped put the game out of reach for the Champs.
