HUNTLAND — Earlier this season, the Huntland Hornets escaped a 34-point, fourth-quarter rally to defeat Cascade 72-68.
Cascade made sure no comeback was needed on Tuesday night.
Tucker McGee scored a game-high 20 points and Cascade avenged the season-opener loss, 61-44.
All season long, Cascade has been looking for more consistency scoring and against the Hornets, the Champs delivered.
Eight players scored against Huntland, with two reaching double figures.
Cascade did the bulk of its work inside the arc, only connecting on three 3-pointers.
The Champs made the most of their size and were able to battle their way to the line and shot a combined 12-of-18 attempts.
In a 24-point fourth quarter, Isaac McElroy sank a perfect 6-of-6 attempts and scored eight of his total 14 points in the period.
Just one Hornet reached double figures—Cayden Bradford—with 10 points.
With the win on Tuesday, Cascade has now won three of its last four games and hopes to complete the season sweep over Moore County at home on Friday night.
