Dorothy Louise Burks, 80, of Shelbyville, died October 28, 2023. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, at Hillcrest Funeral Home with Jeff Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m.
She was a native of Bedford County; retired Bookkeeper for Eaton Corporation; a member of the Baptist Church and a member of Bedford County Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James William “Willie” Holton and Ellen Evelyn Thompson Holton; her husband, Guy Ewin Burks; sisters, Evelyn Frances Arnold, Betty Jane Holton and a brother, Jimmy W. Holton.
She is survived by step-daughters, Connie Baird and Sherry (Thomas) Gibbs; eight step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; niece, Kenya Fults, nephews, Michael Holton, Rickey Holton; four great-nieces and nephews; fourteen great-great-nieces and nephews and three great great-great-nieces.
Hillcrest Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
