Duksan Electera donates to the City of Shelbyville

 Now officially being planted in Bedford County, the Duksan Electera Company has sought to become a part of the community by becoming engaged with the happenings in the City of Shelbyville.

On Dec. 10, CEO Plant Manager Yim Jin-Kang and General Manager Yang Kil-Hyun of Duksan Electera America brought three different checks with donations to the Shelbyville Central Highschool, the Police Department, and Fire Department.

The first stop at Shelbyville Central Highschool was attended by Bedford County Mayor Chad Graham and Principle Charlie Pope along with Shelbyville-Bedford Chamber of Commerce Director Dana Rodriguez. A $6,000 check was presented as a donation to the school towards the A/V program and the SCHS student-ran radio station. Principle Pope stated in regards to the check: “We are so grateful for Duksan and the generous gift they have presented to us! This gift will enable us to grow and advance our audio/visual strand of study! Our students will benefit from this for quite a long time!”

“Duksan has continued to stay engaged in the community particularly with their affinity for education and their support for the local economy,” said Bedford County Mayor Chad Graham, “we’ve all been interactive with them throughout the journey.”

The second location was at the Shelbyville Police Department. Duksan presented an $8,000 check donation to the department alongside City Councilman Henry Feldhaus III and Shelbyville Mayor Randy Carroll. “The City of Shelbyville of appreciates the donations from Duksan Electera to our City Police and Fire Department,” the Shelbyville mayor said, “We are proud of our City Police and Fire Department and the services they provide to all of our citizens.” In regards to the usage of the money from Duksan, Carroll stated: “As Mayor, and with the City Council, we make sure these Departments have the best equipment and training available to protect everyone.”

The third stop was next door at the Shelbyville City Fire Department, in another $8,000 check was presented to the department.
