MURFREESBORO — Shelbyville Central’s Golden Eagle baseball team claimed a huge win at Middle Tennessee Christian School on Friday night before settling for a pair of losses on Saturday in the Grand Slam Tournament.
The Golden Eagles (2-3) host Central Magnet on Monday at 6 p.m.
Friday
Shelbyville Central 5, Middle Tennessee School 4 — Freshman Stephen Bobo hit a game-winning sac-fly to deep left field in the top of the sixth inning scoring, Jacob Formosa from third base.
Bobo got the start on the mound, pitching three scoreless innings.
He only allowed one hit while collecting four strikeouts and walking two.
Carston Williams pitched two innings with Michael claiming the win with a pair of scoreless innings.
Williams led the Golden Eagles at the plate with a pair of singles.

Stewarts Creek 14, Shelbyville 2 — The winners pushed across six runs in the second inning and cruised to the victory from that point in a rematch from last’s year’s Class 4A sectional series.
Aiden Schwartz claimed the win on the mound, striking out six batters in 2 2/3 innings of work.
Parker Burks got the start for Shelbyville with a number of pitcher in relief.
Brody Lovvorn and Caden Duggin each singled to account for the Golden Eagles’ hits.

Oakland 6, Shelbyville Central 3— The Golden Eagles saw an early lead slip away as the Oakland Patriots scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Lane Veron got the win on the mound, fanning eight with two walks, one run and three hits over four innings.
Palmer Edwards pitched three strong innings with William Bobo and Ashton Worley working in relief.
Carston Williams ripped a double and singled to pace Shelbyville Central at the plate and Nick Johnson also singled.
