McMINNVILLE — The Warren County Pioneers just had too much offensive firepower as Shelbyville Central fell, 69-47 on the road on Tuesday night.
Warren County’s Treyton Terry dumped in a game-high 26 points and the Eagles couldn’t find an answer to stop the Pioneer juggernaut.
Terry pounced early in the game, scoring 12 of the Pioneers’ 20 first-quarter points, including a pair of 3-pointers.
The Eagles answered by scrapping together a 10-point effort in the first frame, with Tae’Shawn Shelton knocking down a pair of buckets.
That trend continued through the second and third quarters, but in the fourth, the Eagles’ offense snapped to life behind the efforts of Jack Conditt.
Conditt heated up from the perimeter and drilled three 3-pointers in the quarter as Shelbyville rallied for 19 points.
But even with the fourth-quarter surge, Warren County piled on another 17 to preserve the 22-point district win.
The Eagles are back on the road on Thursday, traveling to Spring Hill for another district tilt.
