Eagles can’t match pace with Centennial

SHELBYVILLE — Shelbyville Central’s Golden Eagles dropped a 73-47 decision to visiting Centennial in a non-district game on Friday night.
Centennial took control early and never looked back, holding a commanding 29-17 lead at the end of the first quarter and increased the lead to 49-25 by the intermission.
The game was much closer in the second half with Centennial holding a 66-39 advantage going into the fourth quarter where the Golden Eagles out scored the winners 8-7.
Dominic Reed paced Centennial with a game-high 17 points followed by Daniel Patton with 16. Taner Lee added 11 and Ryland McKelvy scored 10.
Shamorion Draper each scored 10 points to lead the Golden Eagles.
Shelbyville connected on 19-of-48 shots, including only 1-of-12 from behind the 3-point arch.
