Eagles split with Spring Hill, cap sweep of Warren Co.

SHELBYVILLE — After claiming an impressive win on the road at Spring Hill on Monday night, the Golden Eagles suffered a 7-1 loss to the Raiders in the second game of the two-game series on Tuesday evening at home.
Gavin Schramm went the distance on the mound for Spring Hill, scattering three hits over seven innings with eight strikeouts and no walks.
The Raiders scored a run in the second inning, added two more in the fifth and plated four in the seventh to claim the victory.
Bryson Jones led the winners at the plate going 3-for-3, while Will McGlacken collected three hits as well.
Shelbyville Central’s lone run crossed the plate in the fourth frame when William Bobo scored off a single off the bat of Nick Johnson.
Bobo led the Golden Eagles with a pair of singles.
Senior Carston William got the start on the mound for Shelbyville Central and pitched five innings, allowing three runs, one earned, while fanning four with four walks.
Ashton Whorley and Michael Estrada made relief appearances for the Golden Eagles.

The Golden Eagles hammered out 11 hits and starting pitcher Palmer Edwards did just enough for the Eagles to finish their sweep of Warren County in a makeup district game on Wednesday afternoon.
The Eagles scored in each of the final four innings and doubled up the Pioneers, 8-4.
Nick Johnson stayed hot at the plate and went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, including a double and a three-run shot in the bottom of the third.
After the Eagles led 5-2 following three complete innings, Shelbyville played add on in the fourth with a sac-fly from Stephen Bobo that scored Nick Hopper.
Warren County got two runs back in the top of the fifth on a two-run homer, but Shelbyville responded, scoring a single run in the fifth and sixth innings off a RBI single from Edwards and a run from Stephen Bobo, who scored following a dropped third strike, 2-3 put out at first base.
Edwards went the distance for the Eagles and took the win on the mound, giving up four runs on nine hits, but striking out seven.
