STAFF REPORT
Simply put, it just wasn’t a good start to the district schedule for the Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles.
Through the two-game series against Lincoln County, the Eagles struggled to keep the basepaths clear and couldn’t get out of their own way, committing a combined 10 errors over the two-game span.

Game 1 of the series against the Falcons started promising enough for the Golden Eagles, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning.
But the final three innings were a struggle and the Eagles fell, 13-3.
Shelbyville got a hot start from William Bobo, who singled in the game’s first at-bat.
He later scored when brother Stephen Bobo singled on a line drive to center for the 1-0 Shelbyville lead.
Palmer Edwards later knocked in two runs on a ground ball single to center field, making it a 3-0 Shelbyville Central lead heading to the bottom of the frame.
But after that hot start, Lincoln County turned on the afterburners and outscored Shelbyville 13-0 over the final 4 1/2 innings.
William Bobo had a tough night on the mound, giving up 11 runs on 10 hits with just one strikeout.
Stephen Bobo and Edwards led the team, both going 2-for-3 with a pair of singles.

LINCOLN CO. 15, SCHS 2
The second game in the series between Shelbyville and Lincoln County got off to an eerily similar start, with Lincoln County grabbing an early 2-0 lead.
Although the Eagles matched it with two runs in the bottom of the inning, Lincoln County outscored Shelbyville 13-0 through the final five innings to complete the sweep with the 15-2 win.
After falling behind 2-0, Shelbyville led off the bottom of the first inning with three-straight singles from William Bobo, Casen Duggin and Stephen Bobo to load the bases with nobody out.
Brody Lovvorn then reached on a Falcon error, allowing Duggin to score.
Stephen Bobo later scored on a passed ball to tie the game at two.
But that was all the run support Shelbyville would get in Game 2, as Lincoln County had all the answers following the competitive first inning.
The Eagles burned through five pitchers in the six-inning game on Tuesday, while the Falcons hammered out 12 hits.
Shelbyville was also plagued with six errors in the game.
Stephen Bobo led Shelbyville at the plate, going 2-for-2.
He took the loss on the mound, going four innings and allowing seven runs on seven hits, with only three being earned runs.
