She claimed an individual district and region title, en route to qualifying for the Class 2A state singles tournament. Although Smith earned her prowess as one of the top eight players in Class 2A in the state, her run this season came to an end in the first round of the tournament, falling to Page’s Emma Baker, 6-1, 6-2.
