SHELBYVILLE — Shelbyville Central continues to excel on the defense end of the court as the Golden Eaglettes rolled past visiting Centennial 48-27 in a non district clash on Friday night.
The Golden Eaglette defense didn’t allow Centennial to score more than single digits in each quarter.
“Our defense was fantastic. Our pressure took them out of their offensive rhythm the entire game,” Shelbyville Central coach Kyle Turnham said.
The Golden Eagles featured a balanced scoring effort with Lilly Brown and Sammie Brown each pitching in 13 points to lead the way for the winners.
Paige Blackburn contributed nine points off of three treys followed by Lanaya Young with eight.
Shelbyville Central posted leads of 16-4 after the opening frame, 28-9 at halftime and was in control 43-18 going into the fourth quarter.
Denali Brooks collected eight points for Centennial.
