McMINNVILLE — One thing’s for sure, there was no shortage of offense between Shelbyville Central and Warren County on Tuesday night.
The two teams combined for 33 hits in a display, but it was Warren County who out-lasted the Eaglettes, 21-15.
The Eaglettes (1-1) got the scoring frenzy going in the top of the first inning, plating four runs with four-straight singles.
October Dresbeck singled to center field, scoring two, then later scored on a Warren County error to give Shelbyville a 3-0 lead.
Lilly Brown added a fourth run in the inning on another Warren County error.
But Warren County got two back in the bottom of the inning and cut the Eaglette lead to 4-3 by the end of the second.
From there, the offenses really picked up steam.
Shelbyville scored one in the third, three in the fourth, five in the fifth and two more in the sixth, while Warren County plated three in the third, eight in the fourth and seven more in the fifth.
In total, Warren County out-hit Shelbyville 20-13.
Lilly Brown led the Eaglettes at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBIs to her credit, while Sammie Brown went 4-for-5.
Dresbeck, Rippy, and Brookelyn Dunn all drove home two runs apiece.
