McMINNVILLE — Shelbyville Central relied on a balanced second half to pick up a 50-43 District 9-4A win at Warren County on Friday night.
After falling behind 17-16 by halftime, Shelbyville outscored the Lady Pioneers 34-28 in the second half to lock down the seven-point win.
Lanaya Young was the hero for the Eaglettes, scoring a game-high 24 points.
She was the only player for either team to hit double figures.
While it wasn’t a perfect night at the charity stripe by any means, the Eaglettes did just enough to hold off Warren County.
As a team, Shelbyville made 10-of-24 tries, with four coming in the fourth quarter which were key in securing the win.
Warren County also had a busy night at the line, but was able to keep it close by cashing in on 24-of-36 attempts.
