UNIONVILLE — The Community Viqueens scored three goals in the first 10 minutes of the game to take a commanding lead and went on to celebrate Senior Night with a 6-0 victory over the Marshall County Tigerettes in a soccer match Thursday night.
All six goals were scored by Viqueen seniors, with Audrina Bearden leading the way with a hat trick in the Community win.
The Viqueens were the aggressors around the goal for most of the 80 minutes and just missed a goal in the second minute as Bearden sailed a shot over the net.
But Bearden was spot on a minute later as the senior netted the first of two goals in a span of 42 seconds. Bearden rebounded a miss on her first goal and drilled her second goal to put the Viqueens up 2-0 in the 4th minute of action.
The Viqueens were not done as Alisha Hartsfield drove to the left and put the ball past the Tigerette netminder to give Community a 3-0 lead in the 10th minute.
The Tigerettes became more engaged and possessed the ball more effectively for the rest of the first half.
The Viqueens still managed one more goal in the half as Hartsfield scored off her own miss to give Community a 4-0 lead at the intermission.
It became a struggle to score goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half before Stevie Dickinson found the back of the net with a shot over the goalie from 25 yards out to put the Viqueens up 5-0.
The Viqueens closed out the scoring four minutes later as Bearden scored her third goal from the left side.
Community had three shots bound off the crossbar within a 2-minute stretch near the end of the match but finished with the shutout victory.
Community will entertain Cascade in a District 9-A and intra-county matchup Tuesday night.
