VFW Meeting

VFW Post 1320 Depot Street, Shelbyville

SCHRA Meetings

SCHRA 1437 Winchester Hwy., Fayetteville

The South Central Human resource Agency Governing Board meeting will be on Thursday, April 4, at 11 a.m. at their central office, 1437 Winchester Hwy. in Fayetteville. The Budget/Audit/Appropriations, Property, and Personnel Committees will meet prior to the meeting at 10 a.m.

Teacher Recruitment Fair

The Teacher Recruitment Fair will be April 4 at the Shelbyville Central High School Theatre Lobby from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association

Cooper Steel Arena 721 Whitthorne St., Shelbyville

It will be a time to harken back to yesteryear as the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association comes to the Cooper Steel Arena on the Celebration Grounds. The association will feature a variety of events from April 5 through April 13. On April 7, C.M.S.A. will hold “Sunday in the South,” described as a “fun day”

Sobriety Checkpoint

There will be a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, April 5, at 9 p.m. on U.S. 41A North, 0.9 miles south of the 3-mile marker in Bedford County.

Free Breakfast

Blankenship Church 3602 Midland Rd.

Blankenship Community Church, 3602 Midland Rd., will be hosting their 1st Saturday of the Month free breakfast starting at 8 a.m. They will serve sausage, biscuits, hog jaw bacon, coffee, potatoes, country ham, gravy, eggs, pork tenderloin. Car Show

Shelbyville Central 401 Eagle Blvd., Shelbyville

A Car Show will be held at Shelbyville Central High School, 401 Eagle Blvd., on Saturday, April 6, beginning at 10 a.m.  The event will feature vendors, food, and a car competition. The cost is $25 per entry. All donations benefit the high school football program.

Flat Creek Potluck

Flat Creek Community Center 115 New Herman Rd., Shelbyville

The Flat Creek Community Center will have their regular potluck meal at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 6.  Guitarists Ben Ayers and Dakota Lawen will perform a set of traditional music with bassist and percussionist, Angela Wood, at 7 p.m. following the meal.  The show will feature songs and instrumental tunes from America and Ireland

“Little Shop of Horrors”

Southside Church of Christ has partnered with Healing Hands International, a faith-based nonprofit that provides physical and spiritual opportunities to those in need around the world. They do this through programs like clean water, sustainable farming, business development for women, and resources for local evangelists. Through the partnership with HHI, the Southside Church of Christ
