Delta Dental of Tennessee’s Smile 180 Foundation made a $27,500 grant to Community Clinic Shelbyville Bedford County, Inc last week. The grant covers operational expenses for the dental clinic and capital equipment such as new machines, including a new autoclave.
Dr. Phil Wenk of Delta Dental made the presentation to clinic director Fredia Lusk. County Mayor Chad Graham, Shelbyville Mayor Randy Carroll and State Rep. / Speaker Pro Tem Pat Marsh were among those present for the celebration.
The clinic, which is located in the county-owned Bedford County Business Complex, 200 Dover Street in Shelbyville. It provides healthcare to uninsured and low-income adults and is funded through donations, grants, fund-raisers, and the labor of its mostly-volunteer staff.
