CORNERSVILLE — The Community Vikings got a 20-point effort from Charlie Haskins and held on to withstand a second-half surge in the Cornersville Thanksgiving Tournament championship game.
Community withstood a 41-point second-half surge to take the championship victory, 75-66.
After jumping out to a slim, five-point lead in the first quarter, it was Andrew Tocchio’s sharp-shooting effort in the second that helped the Purple and Gold build a 10-point lead by halftime.
Tocchio connected on three of his made four treys in the second period to spur an 18-point Community effort.
While Grace Christian rallied for 20 in the third, the Vikings were able to rely on the savvy efforts of Haskins’ ability to get to the line where he connected on 4-of-4 attempts in the quarter.
