Hot 1st half leads Eagles past Spring Hill

SPRING HILL — Shelbyville Central put (6-1, 3-0) 41 points on the score board in the first half then cruised to a 54-7 win over Region 5-5A foe Spring Hill on Friday night.
Junior running back Robert Bailey rushed for 157 yards on 16 carries while sophomore Nate Zimmerman followed with 80 yards on 11 touches with three TDs to lead the Golden Eagle offensive effort.
“Our offensive line did a good job of blocking and our backs ran the ball hard,” Shelbyville Central coach Jud Dryden said.
“Steven Bobo (quarterback) played well and this was a great offensive performance.”
The Golden Eagles scored 21 points in the first quarter, the first touchdown was a 6-yard pass to  Madox Wright.

Bailey scored on runs of six and two yards, while Ben Betzelberger added three extra-points.
Spring Hill’s lone points came in the second quarter, a 29 pass from Cordell Isaac to Jackson Westbeld.
Kacen Deschamps connected on the kick after.
Zimmerman scored twice in the second stanza while Bobo hooked up with Labron Ransom on a 22-yard pass for the 41-7 halftime advantage.
Bailey scored on a 5-yard run in the third quarter and Zimmerman added a one yard run in the fourth to close out the scoring.

Bobo connected on 8-of-15 passes for 127 yards with two TDs.
William Bobo hauled in four passes totaling 78 yards.
Senior Madox Wright intercepted two passes while Zimmerman recovered a fumble for Shelbyville Central.
The Golden Eagles return home on Friday night against Lawrence County at 7 for Senior Night.
