BELL BUCKLE — A three-run first inning gave the Webb School (2-2) just the start it needed in the 8-1 win over visiting Marshall County on Thursday night.
Starting pitcher Evan Kirby helped his own cause with a base hit, scoring the first RBI of the night.
Webb later plated two more runs off back-to-back walks Tiger starter Carson Henderson.
By the end of the first, Webb held a 3-0 lead over Marshall County.
Webb later took a 4-0 lead over the Tigers when Mack Hopper ground out to first, allowing Thomas Evans to score.
Marshall County got one run back in the top of the fifth off a RBI single, but Webb slammed the door shut on the Tigers with four more runs off Marshall County miscues in the sixth.
Webb scored two more runs off bases-loaded walks and a throwing error scored an eighth run.
Kirby led the way at the plate for the Feet, going 1-for-2 with three RBIs, while Hopper, Frazier and Landon O’Neal each drove in a run.
On the mound, Kirby pitched four innings and gave up just two hits while striking out four.
Webb will go for its second-straight win on Saturday, looking to complete the sweep against Pope John Paul II.
