Huron Dial

Mr. Huron Dial, age 89, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving family and under the care of the wonderful staff of NHC Tullahoma. It was a great day of joy in heaven as he was reunited with his loving wife, daughter, parents and other friends and family.

He is survived by daughter, Lee Ann Butts and husband Bruce, which he loved as a son. Grandchildren: Blake Melton and wife Lindsay, of Murfreesboro, Logan Butts and wife Makenzy, of Nashville, and Anna Butts and fiancé Will Davidson, both of Shelbyville, and great-grandson Braden Melton, as well as his beloved cousin, Carolyn Reed, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Dial, daughter, Cindy Dial, and his parents, Lyman and Jewel Dial.

Mr. Dial and his family were owners/operators of Dial’s Grocery for many years in the community, and he continued his love for the grocery business after retirement at local stores. Mr. Dial, also known as Poppa, loved working in the yard, spending time with his family and found much pride in his grandchildren.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army and played in the Army Band while serving. He was a member of Fairlane Church of Christ, serving as a Deacon for several years.

Mr. Dial was a kind, generous and loving man that was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. Those who touch our lives, stay in our hearts forever.

The family will receive visitors 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.

There will be a private burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
