Cascade put together its most complete week of the season during spring break as they rolled to wins over Marshall County, Huntland and Tullahoma.
Cascade 4, Marshall County 0
Behind a dominant performance in the circle and timely hitting, Cascade shut out Marshall County 4-0 on Monday.
Jocelyn Laughlin was in complete control from start to finish, tossing a two-hit shutout while striking out eight. Cascade broke through in the second inning when MaKayla Fisher delivered the biggest swing of the game — a two-run single that gave the Lady Champions a 2-0 lead.
That was more than enough support for Laughlin, but Cascade added insurance late. The Lady Champions pushed across single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to extend the lead to 4-0.
Cascade’s offense was steady throughout, collecting 10 hits. Fisher led the way, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Shalan Burt and MaKenzie Fisher each added two hits, while Kelsey Bledsoe, Jocelyn Laughlin and Chloe Parker chipped in with hits of their own.
Cascade 6, Huntland 0
Shalan Burt tossed a complete-game shutout to lead Cascade to a 6-0 win over Huntland on Thursday.
Cascade scored twice in the second inning and added two more in the third to take control early, then tacked on insurance runs late. Burt allowed just four hits while striking out five and walking one.
MoMo Bilbro, Alayna Cruse, and Caroline Parker each had two hits to pace the Lady Champions’ nine-hit effort. Parker, MaKayla Fisher, and Leah Tapp each drove in a run, while Jocelyn Laughlin scored twice.
Cascade 12, Tullahoma 2
Jocelyn Laughlin delivered at the plate and in the circle to lead Cascade to a 12-2 victory over Tullahoma on Friday.
Laughlin drove in four runs on three hits, including a home run, and also earned the win, allowing just two runs (one earned) over six innings while striking out three.
Cascade wasted no time taking control, erupting for five runs in the opening inning to set the tone. The Lady Champions continued to apply pressure throughout, finishing with 17 hits.
Laughlin and MaKenzie Fisher each collected three hits to pace the offense, while MoMo Bilbro, Kenzie Bledsoe, MaKayla Fisher and Caroline Parker all turned in multi-hit performances. Shalan Burt added two RBIs as Cascade’s lineup produced up and down the order.
The Lady Champions (3-4, 0-2) get back into district action on Tuesday as they travel to Summertown. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 P.M.
