Michael Joseph “Mike” Pollard, age 56 of Shelbyville, Tenn., passed from this life Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Mike was born to Susan (Misch) and Robert Pollard on June 15, 1967, in Muskegon, Mich.

He was raised in Kingsley, Mich., and moved to Shelbyville in 2008.  He served in the Navy.

He is survived by wife of 15 years Cindy (Carpenter) Pollard.  They met on a blind date at Karaoke in Michigan in 2004.  They married on October 18, 2008.

As a career Mike; like his father, became a karaoke DJ and the two of them worked together and created Pollard Karaoke but years later his father would have to retire early due to his health.

Outside of work he loved music and played with multiple bands opening for Edgar Winter, Blue Oyster Cult and a few others.

He started Pollard Karaoke in 2008 at the VFW Post 8422 in Smyrna, Tenn.  He also performed at Georgia’s Bar and Grill, D & D Bar, Darlin’s Bar and Grill plus many others.  One of his favorite DJing events was the annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball.

Music gave Mike joy and he was able to spend his life sharing that joy. Music was definitely in his blood. Anyone who met him liked him as he had a very caring, fun-loving personality. He was always willing to help others in any way he could.

Mike loved his children and grandchildren deeply.  He instilled the love of music into them.  He enjoyed teaching them all about singing and music.

Mike is survived by: his loving wife, Cindy; stepmom, Charly; children, Jenni Metcalf (Patrick) Porter, Michael Steele (Julie Cross), Steven(Leanna) Steele, Nicole (Randy) Wilson and Amber Maxon; grandchildren, Delaney, Jasmine, Atalie “Wiggle Wamp”, Amelia “Moosey Butt”, Haylee Redding, Joshua, Amber, Dustin, Jayden, Emerald, Safyre, Alexander, Josephine, and Makayla; sisters, Kimberly, Tracy, Courtney, Colleen and Laura; brothers, Scott, Troy, Adam, In laws, Brian (Robin) Carpenter, Stewart (Colleen) Carpenter, David (Ulrike) Carpenter, Jeff (Danica) Carpenter and Dale Carpenter; along with several nieces and nephews, closest friends, Duane, Bob, Jim and many more extended family members and friends.
