SHELBYVILLE — Shelbyville Central didn’t record a hit against Forrest in the Wildcat Classic on Friday night, but found a way to scratch out a 4-3 win, surviving a three-run rally by the Rockets in the top of the fifth inning.
Forrest threatened right off the bat in the top of the first inning and got runners on via two base hits and a walk, but starting pitcher Brody Lovvorn settled in and struck out Travis Porter to strand two runners on base.

Stephen Bobo then drew a walk before William Bobo stole third.
He eventually slid home on a passed ball for the first run of the night.
Lovvorn later drew a walk before Duggin also scored on a passed ball.
The Eagles got one more run on a sac-bunt by Palmer Edwards, scoring Stephen Bobo for the final run of the inning.
Shelbyville played add on in the bottom of the third when Caden Peacock ground into a fielder’s choice, scoring Bobo for his second run of the night.
In full control of the game with a 4-0 lead, despite not having a hit, Shelbyville saw Forrest rally for three runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Despite the three-run fifth, Lovvorn, who got the start on the mound, pitched his way to through the sixth inning.
He gave up three runs on six hits while striking out six.
William Bobo took over in the seventh and tossed a scoreless frame to secure the win.
Friday’s win was followed up by a 13-3 win against Smyrna on Saturday afternoon to cap a busy week of tournament play.
