The Town of Normandy has continued its new tradition of hosting an open-air Christmas Market for the third year in a row, with the community gathering together for a very well attended event along the historic Front St near the train tracks.  According to Rhonda Comstock, the City Recorder of Normandy, attendance was approximately 3x higher this year than the previous with the energy of Normandy continuing to grow, even alongside the activity in the other parts of the county.   The town also hosted a “Small Town Christmas Parade” and other festive events following the market and a Christmas tree lighting happened with Barbara Crockett Troxler serving as the grand marshal during the event.  Events happening in the future in Normandy consist of a brand-new spring event happening later next year, with a theme of animal rescue and care.

“Things are on the upswing, because of the efforts of people in the community.” Charles Whitaker, former mayor of Normandy and currently an alderman said, ‘I would like to thank all the people that have participated in the community for keeping momentum.”
