Offense a struggle for Viqueens

LAFAYETTE — In a game where neither team was particularly effective on the offensive end of the court, it was Macon County that was able to grind out a 35-31 win over Community on Friday night.
Macon County’s Natalie Green scored 17 points to lead all scorers and Community never could find an answer to counter Green’s offense.
The Lady Tigers jumped on Community to the tune of a 13-7 lead after the first quarter, with Anna Haskins being held to just five points in the quarter.
Green, on the other hand, went for seven of her total 17 points in the period.
Both teams struggled to find consistency on the offensive end of the court in the second period, combining for just 14 points.
Still, Macon County held a 19-15 lead over Community.
Not much changed into the second half as both teams scored 16 points to close the game.
Brooklyn Yoes and Alyssa White both scored eight points to lead Community, while Haskins added seven.
The Viqueens were back on the road on Tuesday at Richland before closing the week at Central Magnet on Thursday and home on Friday against Macon County.
