SHELBYVILLE — While a total team score didn’t result in a win in the second summer meet, plenty of Sharks continue to make weekly improvements, with the goal of peaking during next month’s league championship meet.
Paizley Hodges turned in a fine performance in the meet, winning the girls 15-19 50-meter butterfly in 34.14., and finishing second in the 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter IM.
She also helped the girls 15-19 100-meter freestyle relay team take home the win, along with Dijana Geary, Ally Maybee and Grace Moody.
Anna Marsh finished second in the girls’ 7-8 25-meter freestyle behind Miller Luna.
Marsh also won the 25-meter butterfly and took second in the 25-meter freestyle.
In the girls 11-12 50-meter freestyle, Leah Landers took home a win in 37.56 and Andrew Downing won the boys 13-14 50-meter freestyle.
“Overall, I’m very proud of so many of our swimmers. So many of them have such a passion for swimming already. Ultimately, that’s the most important thing to me as a coach,” Sharks coach Lauren Ball said.
The Sharks are on the road on Thursday night at Fayetteville before returning home on June 25 for a meet against Lewisburg at 5 p.m.
