Successful Friday gives Vikes winning record in ‘Classic

UNIONVILLE — With one game left to play in their Mid-South Classic, the Community Vikings moved over the .500 mark in the Classic with two victories on Friday after facing five opponents from four different states.
After an opening game loss to Delta (Ohio) on Wednesday afternoon, the Vikings split their second game of the day with a win against Brooks Prep (Ill.) Wednesday night.
Community lost its lone game of the day on Thursday against Lincoln Co. (W.Va.), but a big day with a huge comeback helped turn the tide on Friday.
The Vikings trailed Eastern Hancock (Ind.) 7-0 Friday morning before scoring nine unanswered runs to win 9-7.  Community followed with a win against Blackford (Ind.) Friday night.
The Vikings played their final game of the Classic on Saturday against Western Boone (Ind.).
