UNIONVILLE — Several players saw action as the Community Viqueens scored seven runs after the first two batters were retired in three different innings and pitcher Haylee Webb kept the Grundy County Lady Jackets hitless as the Viqueens finished with a 10-0 victory over the Lady Jackets in a District 9-AA softball contest Tuesday night.
Community (18-11, 6-2) got on the board in the opening inning as Gracie Daniel connected for a double to start a 2-out rally and the Viqueens followed by scoring runs on an error and a wild pitch to take a 2-0 lead.
The script was similar in the second inning as the Viqueens scored three runs.  Anna Haskins laid down a 2-out bunt single and Taylar Wessner drilled a blast deep to right for an inside-the-park homer as the Viqueens took a 4-0 lead.
A single by Daniel and an RBI-double by Webb increased the Community advantage to 5-0.
A double by Alyssa White started the rally with two outs for the Viqueens in the third.  After another bunt single by Haskins put two runners on base, a wild pitch brought home one run and a triple by Wessner scored another as Community went up 7-0.
Meanwhile, Webb continued to mow down Lady Jacket hitters before a walk in the top of the fourth gave Grundy County its only base runner of the game.
A single by Victoria Wells, a sacrifice fly by Jayla Mangrum, and a 2-run single by Annie Prince in the bottom of the fifth put the icing on the cake as the Viqueens ended the game on the run-rule.
Webb struck out eight in her no-hit performance for the Viqueens.
Haskins, Wessner, and Daniel all had two hits to lead the Viqueen 10-hit attack.
Community closes regular season play with a home game against Eagleville on Wednesday.
