BELL BUCKLE — The Community Viqueens padded their grasp on the District 9-2A lead with a dominant 15-0 win on Monday night at Cascade.
The Purple and Gold hammered out 18 hits and got a perfect five innings from starting pitcher Annie Prince to move to 3-0 in league play.
Community pounced on Cascade in the top of the first frame with a lead-off single from Anna Haskins.
In the next at-bat, Mattie Maxey slugged a two-run shot over the center field fence to give Community a 2-0 lead.
But starting Cascade pitcher Jocelyn Laughlin worked around trouble in the inning, despite giving up one more hit.
She dodged another bullet in the second inning, despite

giving up three walks, and posted a scoreless frame.
She posted a second scoreless frame in the third inning as well, keeping the 2-0 Viqueen lead well within striking distance.
But Cascade simply couldn’t come up with an answer for Viqueen ace Annie Prince.
Prince struck out every batter faced in the five innings played.
And after the two sluggish innings at the plate by Community, the Viqueen offense unleashed a deluge of runs over the final two innings, scoring a total of 13 runs to reach the run-rule limit.
Maxey, Haylee Webb and Taylar Wessner each drove in three runs in the Community win, with Webb crushing a two-run homer of her own.
Wessner clubbed a two-run triple of her own as well.
Kamryn Farrell finished with a 2-for-3 effort and drove in four runs in the win.
